Commitment: ~10 hours per week (U.S. based remote)
Point of Contact: Business Tech Services Director
The Volunteer will provide technical support and assistance to project-based initiatives within the Business Tech Services Department. The department operates across multiple projects (such as web applications, internal tools, AI initiatives, and platform development) under the guidance of the department’s leadership. Project assignments may evolve based on organizational needs and volunteer availability.
What You’ll Do
The Volunteer will support one or more of the following areas depending on their background, interests and project needs:
Assisting with front-end or back-end development tasks within existing applications.
Supporting the refinement of components using frameworks such as React/Next.js or similar technologies.
Assisting with API integration and basic data handling under guidance.
Supporting AI or data-related initiatives, including documentation and experimentation tasks.
Assisting with troubleshooting, testing, or general technical improvements.
Documenting technical processes, workflows, or findings.
Participating in periodic meetings and providing updates on assigned tasks.
What We Look For
You may be a great fit to support this mission if you have an interest or background in the following:
A background or current study in computer science, engineering, software principles and a desire to apply these skills to a humanitarian mission.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to help maintain the integrity of project documentation.
Ability to collaborate with the team and share technical findings clearly.
Assist in drafting basic tests for components using tools like Jest + React Testing Library, or help create simple Storybook documents to assist other volunteers in understanding existing tools.
Help the team with basic delivery tasks like checking build errors, noting for console errors in establish environments, and reporting bugs to the program leads.
