Operations volunteer

About the job

Commitment: ~10 hours per week (U.S. remote) 
Reports to: Operations Director and sub team manager  

What you'll do:

You will support ACDC’s core operations through one focus areas based on your skills and interests and the team’s needs.

Human Resources (HR) Focus 

  • Communicate with candidates and coordinate interview logistics

  • Participate in interviews and assist with candidate evaluation

  • Support onboarding/offboarding workflows and maintain volunteer records

  • Assist with volunteer follow-ups and check-ins  

Administration Focus

  • Prepare reports, documents, and presentations

  • Conduct research on tools, platforms, or processes to improve operations

  • Organize digital files and maintain shared systems

  • Assist in planning and supporting online events and projects

  • Provide general administrative and inquiry support

Compliance Focus

  • Review agreements, closure letters, and onboarding documentation

  • Summarize basic regulatory topics (e.g., OPT/CPT, nonprofit guidelines)

  • Draft internal checklists or policy notes for HR/Directors

  • Support record-keeping and documentation standards

  • Respond to compliance-related questions from volunteers or partners

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information

Website Designer Focus

  • Design clean, functional website pages for external partners

  • Communicate with clients to gather requirements and propose design solutions

  • Create and research visuals/multimedia using Canva or similar tools

  • Support updates to ACDC’s internal website as needed

  • Prepare final deliverables and documentation for client handoff

What we're looking for:

  • Interest or experience in HR, administration, compliance, or digital/website design

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Clear written and verbal communication

  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism

  • Reliability, consistency, and ownership of assigned tasks

  • Ability to collaborate remotely and adapt to different projects/focus areas
