Education volunteer

About the job

Commitment: ~10 hours per week (U.S. remote) 
Reports to: Education Director  

What you’ll do:

As an Education Volunteer, you will support ACDC’s academic programs through one or more focus areas, depending on your background and interests. Responsibilities may include:

Instructional Design Focus

  • Design and improve curriculum for high school and college pathway programs

  • Analyze learner feedback and course data to enhance learning outcomes

  • Research academic and career trends (e.g., STEM, pre-med, college pathways)

  • Develop engaging content, assessments, and learning resources

Counseling & Mentoring Focus

  • Support planning of wellness-focused workshops, activities, and community sessions

  • Assist in developing non-clinical support materials (life skills, resilience, parenting, etc.)

  • Collaborate with the Education Director and facilitator/mentor teams

  • Contribute to intake understanding and non-clinical guidance pathways

Psychology Focus

  • Develop psychology-related workshops, modules, and learning resources

  • Research mental health trends, careers, and real-world applications

  • Suggest case studies, examples, and activities that connect theory to practice

  • Analyze learner feedback to refine content

What we're looking for:

You may be a great fit if you have interest or experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Education, curriculum design, instructional development

  • Psychology, mental health, counseling, emotional wellness

  • Community support, mentoring, or group facilitation

  • Workshop design, student support, youth programming

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Comfort working with tools like Excel, Google Forms, or similar

  • Collaborative, detail-oriented, and open to feedback

  • Passion for supporting students and community wellness
